The 1986 issue of an annual newsletter written by Marsha P. Johnson's roommate, Randy Wicker, in which he provides updates on his life and business, the household, and close friends. The author explains that he was unable to finish the previous year's letter due to a series of events, including rising tensions at work, his roommate, Willie, needing medical attention and his long-term partner, David Combs, falling ill, both on Christmas day. Much of the letter details Wicker taking care of Combs as he battles AIDS (he was not yet officially diagnosed). Marsha prolongs her stay in California to take care of a friend suffering from AIDS. After her return, Wicker tries to keep Marsha "off the streets" and relays a conversation between them regarding her most recent stint in jail. An old friend of Wicker's named Malú lives with them for most of the year.
