Hazel Katz Oral History

In this interview conducted by Aviva Silverman, Hazel Katz discusses her upbringing, including her religious differences from her parents, and her reluctance to come out because of the social difficulties of doing so. She also discusses her struggle with her gender identity, saying that identifying as a trans femme feels much better than anything else she's experienced throughout her life, but that she wishes that people were allowed to be in process regarding their gender identity for their entire lives without boundaries. Katz also spends time considering the intersectional nature of being transgender.
